Board of Directors

Every member of our board of directors is a thought leader who has made significant contributions to our charity. Each one brings a unique set of skills and expertise to our organization. 

Kelly R. Nelson, MD

Born and raised in Mobile, AL Kelly moved to West Virginia in 1986 after graduating from Auburn University the University of Alabama School of Medicine.

 

He married his wife Debby and officially became a West Virginian in 1989. Debby and Kelly have three sons that all remain deeply engaged with the charity.

 

Dr. Nelson founded Medbrook Children’s Charity in 2000 with the intent to benefit the lives of children in need in Harrison and surrounding counties.

 

Kelly notes that he is the face and the voice of the charity but gratefully recognizes his board as the driving force of the charity and the community itself as the key to the charities’ success.

Roger Lehosit

Roger is a Notre Dame High School and Fairmont State University graduate. Roger has been essential to the growth and sustainability of the charity.

LuAnne Bush

I am a retired Vice President of Wesbanco Bank Inc and Housing Commissioner of Clarksburg Harrison Regional Housing Authority. When I was asked to join the Medbrook Children’s Charity Board, I considered it an opportunity and an obligation. Helping children who may have fallen through the cracks of our society fulfills both. This organization’s commitment to the children of Harrison County is a reflection of the original founders compassion and character. I am

privileged to be a part of its mission. 

David Alvarez

David B. Alvarez, a native West Virginian and resident of Bridgeport, WV, is a recognized

owner, business leader and established serial entrepreneur, who remains very active in

development, industry and community work.

Tom Aman

Tom Aman is a Certified Public Accountant who received his Bachelor of Science from West Virginia University in 1970.
Joined Toothman Rice in 1970 and retired under firm name Arnett Carbis Toothman January 2018. We are honored to have Tom on the board of directors.

David D'Annunzio

I want to continue to help those in need in our communities. Dr. Nelson is a leader who encourages the Board Members and Volunteers to continue to serve the needy no matter what is asked of us. 

I also volunteer for The Mustard Seed in Harrison County, am a member of the Men’s Group of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarksburg, and served as a Past President of The Columbian Club.


Adam Dyer

Adam Dyer is the WV President and Chief Insurance & Acquisition Officer at Blue Ridge Risk Partners, a top 75 independent insurance agency operation in the U.S. He resides in Bridgeport, WV with his wife Rhea and children Iley, Lorenn, and Witt. 

Marc

Halbritter

Marc Halbritter has served on the board of Medbrook Children’s Charity since its inception. Marc retired in April 2019 as Sr. VP with Caiman Energy after nearly 40 years working in the natural gas industry. Upon his retirement, he formed Hydrocarbon Consulting to provide energy consulting services and he also became active in angel investing through Country Roads Angel Network (CRAN) helping WV entrepreneurs start up new businesses. Marc holds Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor degrees from West Virginia University and a Doctor of Humane Letters from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Marc is also a certified public accountant. He has served on several other boards including those of the Mason Dixon Football Official’s Association, St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Christ Church Episcopal, Energize WV, the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association, West Virginia Wesleyan College and the Gas and Oil Association West Virginia.

Evans "Buddy" King

I have appreciated the stewardship of MCC’s leaders regarding the use of the Charity’s monies in doing good for the less fortunate children of Harrison County. The passion and concern is very real.

Michael D'Annunzio

Michael D’Annunzio is a well-respected business leader

in North Central WV. As president of Beverage Distributors, Inc., Michael’s leadership style has allowed this third-generation family business to continue to prosper.

Laura Pickens

Laura Pickens, the daughter of Stanley and Roseann Pickens, was born and has lived in Clarksburg, Harrison County, West Virginia for the majority of her life. She is a practicing attorney and Chief Assistant Prosecutor for Harrison County, West Virginia and has been practicing in that office since 2006. She received her undergraduate degree from West Virginia University in 1988 and her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1992 at Mississippi College School of Law. Laura is licensed to practice law in West Virginia, Mississippi and is a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.

Jaclyn Rominger, DDS

My name is Jaclyn Rominger, and I was born and raised in Harrison County. I graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1999 and West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 2009. I am currently practicing as a dentist in Bridgeport, where I reside with my husband, Johnnie Rominger. I love my community, and I am honored to serve on the Medbrook Children's Charity board. I am also involved with the Associated Businesses of Bridgeport, the Bridgeport Rotary, Mountaineer Heroes of Honor Foundation, and Sleep in Heavenly Peace. It is my privilege to give back to the community that has been so good to me and my family.

Mark Urso

Since graduating from West Virginia University in 1994 with a BS in Finance, Mark has been in and around the construction industry serving in many capacities. In 2004, Mark elected to step away from working for others and started Bear Contracting, LLC (BC). Along with his wife Angie providing support in any capacity, Mark has grown BC into a full service Heavy Civil construction company working for the West Virginia Department of Highways and the Natural

Gas and Energy markets. With this customer base, BC averages annual sales is over 30 million

and 90 employees. Mark is also the owner of Bear Utilities, LLC which provides support and

maintenance services in the Natural gas industry and trucking in the public marketplace. This company has average revenues of 5-10 million and up to 15 employees.

Steve Williams

My wife Linda and I have been supporters of Medbrook’s Children Charity since and perhaps even before it’s inception. The mission of MCC is consistent with our long term support of this community, and in particular support and nurturing of the young and vulnerable. We are both pleased to join with other committed MCC donors and volunteers as we make our community a better place to live and create exceptional opportunities for children who live here.
